#0001 BULBASAUR
フシギダネ

Seed Pokemon

While superficially resembling an amphibian, Bulbasaur is actually more accurately classified as a dicynodont Pokemon. The seed on its back is some sort of parasitic, nomadic species of Araceae that enables Bulbasaur to gain energy through photosynthesis, alongside eating roots and insects, which it digs for with its tusks.

#0002 IVYSAUR
フシギソウ

Seed Pokemon

The parasitic plant on Bulbasaur's back begins to flower if it evolves into Ivysaur, releasing a sweet smell that attracts small insects, which Ivysaur predates upon. Ivysaur is the most aggressive member of the Bulbasaur family as well as the most solitary, often using its tusks to fight over territory rather than just dig for food.

#0003 VENUSAUR
フシギバナ

Seed Pokemon

Plant hobbyists are generally fans of Venusaur, due to the amount of rare cuttings they can collect from its back to propagate and sell. Venusaur are sometimes selectively bred to produce a wide array of color and pattern variation on their leaves. In the wild, they are calm and slow-moving Pokemon, who often live in small colonies, typically consisting of a few Venusaur and several Bulbasaur.

#0003 MEGA VENUSAUR
メガフシギバナ

Seed Pokemon

Exposure to an irradiated Leaf Stone causes the Araceae on its back to grow out of control, causing the normally-docile Venusaur to become extremely aggressive. Its bite force is strong enough to puncture steel, and the weight of its muscles alone will crush any human and many Pokemon when it rampages, so intentional exposure of a Venusaur to these stones is illegal in most places.

#0003 GMAX VENUSAUR
キョダイフシギバナ

Seed Pokemon

When Gigantamaxed, Venusaur is completely immoble due to the weight of its plant. The amount of pollen it produces can prove lethal to some people.

#0004 CHARMANDER
ヒトカゲ

Lizard Pokemon

Exposure to water or high humidity can be fatal to Charmander, since the moisture can wash away the natural oils it produces along its tail that keep its flame lit. It is advised to always keep them in dry environments. There is a prevalent belief that these oils are toxic to humans, but this is a myth.

#0005 CHARMELEON
リザード

Flame Pokemon

Evolution gives Charmander a more advanced brain. Charmeleon is an intelligent and somewhat dangerous Pokemon, and this makes it hard to manage, giving some trainers who decide to evolve their Charmander regret. It likes to test its limits, so trainers are advised to be firm and dominant if raising one.

#0006 CHARIZARD
リザードン

Flame Pokemon

A highly intelligent Pokemon with a mischievous nature. Wild Charizard can prove to be serious nuisances to humans if they decide to "target" them (burning their things, chasing & scaring them, etc.), though injuries are rare, as it's believed they understand their own power and are merely engaging in interspecies play. An advanced understanding of training is necessary to maintain a Charizard, so they are rare to see in captivity.

#0006 MEGA CHARIZARD X
メガリザードンX

Flame Pokemon

A highly dangerous, and often illegal mutation of Charizard that results from exposure to irradiated stones. The flame-producing oils in its body become so caustic that it warps the brain, putting Charizard into an almost permanent berserker state. Several fatalities have been reported, so these mutations are often destroyed when discovered.

#0006 MEGA CHARIZARD Y
メガリザードンY

Flame Pokemon

The presence of two mutations is likely due to differences in individual Charizards' DNA. This one is a more primitive form that resembles one of Charizard's ancient ancestors. It is less dangerous than the other, but they have a tendency to eat their trainer's other Pokemon, as well as randomly fly away, so they're still avoided.

#0006 GMAX CHARIZARD
キョダイリザードン

Flame Pokemon

The heat from its enormous flames can be felt from 100 miles away. Any stadiums planning to debut one have to be fireproofed extensively.

#0007 SQUIRTLE
ゼニガメ

Tiny Turtle Pokemon

A playful and sociable Pokemon. Squirtle love to gather on beaches during sunny days and blow bubbles from their mouths, making their native beaches popular attractions. Playfulness and general cuteness, as well as a generally docile attitude, make it very popular with trainers.

#0008 WARTORTLE
カメール

Turtle Pokemon

Wartortle are still playful, but they like to perform stunts to establish status in their bale. One of their most commonly-observed behaviors is shell-skipping, where a Wartortle will spin their shell and launch across the surface of water, with the one that skips the furthest having the highest status.

#0009 BLASTOISE
カメックス

Shellfish Pokemon

Its pressurized water jets are very powerful, but it prefers to use them to make trick shots rather than attack anything. A scared or ornery Blastoise that has retreated into its shell & refuses to come out sometimes requires a large forklift to be moved, if it does so in an inconvenient spot.

#0009 MEGA BLASTOISE
メガカメックス

Shellfish Pokemon

Though the most stable mutation among Kanto's "big three," it isn't any less dangerous. The cannons on this Blastoise have enough power to fire off water jets as strong as the most destructive anti-tank missiles. Any trainer that has their Blastoise so much as face another human while in this form may face criminal penalties.

#0009 GMAX BLASTOISE
キョダイカメックス

Shellfish Pokemon

This giant Blastoise is only permitted to be used in select stadiums that are outfitted to withstand its jets, as it no longer cares to aim carefully, opting instead to shoot while spinning its shell. Though not as lethal as Mega Blastoise, the sheer volume of water produced can prove rather dangerous.

#0010 CATERPIE
キャタピー

Worm Pokemon

A very weak caterpillar Pokemon that often falls prey to birds. Despite the horrible musk it produces from its horn, it's enjoyed strong popularity as a pet in Kanto. Owners have to take care to make sure that their Caterpie don't get into their closets and eat their clothes.

#0011 METAPOD
トランセル

Cocoon Pokemon

Metapod is not, in actuality, a distinct Pokemon, but a middle stage that lasts around 2-3 weeks before a fully-formed Butterfree emerges. It interestingly seems to possess false eyes, likely to startle avian predators away.

#0012 BUTTERFREE
バタフリー

Butterfly Pokemon

A migratory bug Pokemon widely loved for its cute appearance and relaxing vocalizations. It conceals a long proboscis behind its muzzle, that it will extend to eat flower pollen, sip salty liquids, or even blood should it find any.

#0012 GMAX BUTTERFREE
キョダイバタフリー

Butterfly Pokemon

People report that the light from its wings is so soothing that it immediately will put them to sleep. It's popular to collect any shed scales that happen to drop from it while observing one in a stadium.

#0013 WEEDLE
ビードル

Hairy Bug Pokemon

Due to its poisonous spines, it hasn't enjoyed as much popularity as a pet as Caterpie has. However, Weedle possesses a very devoted fanbase of entomological hobbyists, who insist on its superior, understated cuteness compared to Caterpie.

#0014 KAKUNA
コクーン

Cocoon Pokemon

Like Metapod, Kakuna is also not a distinct Pokemon. What makes it distinct from Metapod is its reflexive stinging "forelimbs" that it lunges out instinctively at any nearby presence, so it is generally avoided by predators and trainers alike.

#0015 BEEDRILL
スピアー

Poison Bee Pokemon

A widely feared Pokemon, made infamous by its instinctive aggression when defending its nesting site. In any other context, wild Beedrill are actually docile unless provoked, but extreme caution is still advised when near one, as with any wild poison-type Pokemon. It collects pollen in its mane of setae to carry back to its nest and feed its offspring.

#0015 MEGA BEEDRILL
メガスピアー

Poison Bee Pokemon

A vicious mutation of Beedrill that no longer desires its usual social lifestyle, instead becoming a solitary predator. Due to the potency of its venom and hyper-predatory, aggressive behavior, these Beedrill are almost always destroyed as to prevent any establishment of a breeding population.

#0016 PIDGEY
ポッポ

Tiny Bird Pokemon

An excessively common Pokemon. Though it can't be said for its evolved forms, Pidgey is able to easily adapt to urban environments, being commonly found all over cities as well as the countryside. It is often seen as more of a pest than anything, due to its overabundance & tendency to bully other, rarer bird Pokemon.

#0017 PIDGEOTTO
ピジョン

Bird Pokemon

If it evolves, Pidgey becomes a pure carnivore. Pidgeotto is a voracious and aggressive Pokemon, preying on anything it thinks it has a chance against, though it favors piscine prey.

#0018 PIDGEOT
ピジョット

Bird Pokemon

Pidgeot was worshiped by certain ancient peoples as a symbol of wisdom and courage. The golden plumage of the shiny variant is especially alluring to humans, with solid gold Pidgeot statues being a commonly owned status symbol by the rich & powerful of antiquity.

#0018 MEGA PIDGEOT
メガピジョット

Bird Pokemon

The beautiful feathers of this mutated Pidgeot make it desirable for many trainers, but exposure to irradiated stones gave it a territorial and uncompromising disposition, unwilling to trust any trainer. Attempting to touch one will result in being attacked, so it is considered dangerous.

#0019 RATTATA
コラッタ

Mouse Pokemon

Like Pidgey, Rattata is seen as an overabundant pest more often than not. Rattata has enjoyed more popularity as a pet, however, having a surprisingly well-developed brain that enables it to perform complex tricks & tasks if trained to do so.

#0020 RATICATE
ラッタ

Mouse Pokemon

Raticate are highly adaptable and intelligent, like Rattata, but unlike Rattata, they seldom grow to trust humans. Their suspicious nature makes them avoidant, and despite commonly dwelling in urban environments, they are rarely seen. To earn the trust of a Raticate as a trainer is an impressive feat.

#0019 ALOLAN RATTATA
アローラコラッタ

Mouse Pokemon

This Rattata is seemingly intelligent enough to manipulate humans with its cute looks in order to get food. It is less trusting than the Kantonian Rattata, but will pretend to be for its own benefit, running away after it gets what it wants.

#0020 ALOLAN RATICATE
アローララッタ

Mouse Pokemon

This Raticate leads a more sedentary lifestyle than its Kantonian counterpart. It typically steals food from the Rattata it surrounds itself with, only exerting energy when absolutely necessary. It is often aggressive towards humans, rather than just distrustful.

#0021 SPEAROW
オニスズメ

Tiny Bird Pokemon

Spearow is Pidgey's "rival," being one of the few bird Pokemon to successfully be able to fight them off of their territory. They achieve this through having an aggressive disposition, as well as being more gregarious than Pidgey; Spearow are almost always found in groups. They swarm like wasps on anything that disturbs them.

#0022 FEAROW
オニドリル

Beak Pokemon

The comparitavly calmer Fearow is more seldom-seen than Spearow. Despite its condorian shape and scavenging tendencies, it prefers to wade through shallow water while hunting, plucking out fish and amphibians with its hooked beak.

#0023 EKANS
アーボ

Snake Pokemon

Despite being a poison-type, it is comparitively less dangerous due to being very timid as well as rear-fanged, requiring Ekans to "chew" to inject its venom. Its common defense mechanism is flipping half of its body belly-up, exposing its bright coloration, and shaking its tail rattle to scare predators away.

#0024 ARBOK
アーボック

Cobra Pokemon

Arbok is among the most intelligent reptile Pokemon, but it is also very dangerous due to the lethality of its venom. Certain ancient peoples greatly feared and respected it as a supernatural being, with the belief that the false face on its hood was its true visage. The "expression" of its true face determined whether the one seeing it was fated to live longer, or die soon.

#0025 PIKACHU
ピカチュウ

Mouse Pokemon

One of the most popular pet Pokemon in history, but rare in the wild. Pikachu shares many of the same traits as Rattata, but greater popularity due to its cheek pouches and crooked tail. It is more commonly seen at Pokemon shows rather than in battle, due to the wide repertoire of tricks that it can be taught.

#0026 RAICHU
ライチュウ

Mouse Pokemon

If evolved, Pikachu becomes more oriented towards battle as well as more mischievous. It is a very popular pick among trainers, with Raichu having high intelligence, good trainability, and a scrappy disposition. Roughhousing and playfighting being common social displays (with both other Pokemon and humans). It is famous for being able to balance on the tip of its long tail.

#0025 GMAX PIKACHU
キョダイピカチュウ

Mouse Pokemon

It seems that letting Pikachu grow to a gigantic size makes it extremely hungry. It has been known to demolish stands if it smells something delicious, so stadiums planning to debut one have a strict no-food rule.

#0026 ALOLAN RAICHU
アローラライチュウ

Mouse Pokemon

The Alolan subspecies perplexes scientists, with no real impetus being present as to why Raichu gained a relaxed disposition and Psychic typing. It is, however, extremely popular all-around, loved for both its cute looks, contest skills, and surprising power in battle. It has a particular taste for human-made confections, but its advised to avoid feeding Raichu any human food, since it's bad for their health.

#0027 SANDSHREW
サンド

Mouse Pokemon

The scaly pangolin Pokemon was erroneously classified under the Mus genus many years ago, with many taxonomists clamoring for a change that better reflects its uniqueness. It is more closely related to Heatmor than Pikachu. Sandshrew is well-known for its defense mechanism of curling into a ball and rolling away from threats.

#0028 SANDSLASH
サンドパン

Mouse Pokemon

Sandslash straighten out their scales as a primary defense mechanism, preferring not to fight, only using its sickle claws if forced. Their claws are most typically used for digging out burrows. Its scales are very valuable, especially the blood-red ones possessed by its shiny variant, so Sandslash are unfortunately common victims of human exploitation.

#0027 ALOLAN SANDSHREW
アローラサンド

Mouse Pokemon

Living in the Alolan mountains made Sandshrew stockier and fluffier. It's now mostly unable to effectively curl into a ball, thanks to its thick coat of fur and denser scales, instead relying on digging away through the snow at high speed, or being too frigid to be touched by any would-be predators.

#0028 ALOLAN SANDSLASH
アローラサンドパン

Mouse Pokemon

The Alolan subspecies of Sandslash is rare to find. It coats its most prominent scales in water and freezes them with its breath, creating a thick defensive layer that no other Pokemon in its ecosystem can get through. Their main mode of locomotion is to "swim" through the snow, with a longer tail allowing it a wider range of movement.
